Reviews
The building staff is great. Darren did an excellent job preparing us for our move-in, and has remained helpful. The common areas are cleaned daily and the mailroom is super organized for a building of this size.
They raised our rent 14%, kept our deposit despite no damage whatsoever to the apartment, and they charged us extra rent "preemptively" for the month after our lease expired, despite us giving advance notice that we were moving out.
When we pointed out the extra charge, they repeatedly "refunded" us small amounts that did not correlate to the money that they had stolen from us. Their accounting department was in complete shambles, and there was no way do discern which erroneous charges were for what.
Once, a car caught on fire next to ours in the parking garage (close enough to leave soot on ours), and they did not even email us directly to notify us. The burnt husk of a car sat there, wet and moldy for months.
The apartments have extremely thin walls and floors, with tenants who are not used to living in cities. The management told everyone to wear shoes inside their own apartments to avoid the noise.
Also, the walls soaked through with water when it rained. The building is literally not even watertight.
Terrible place. Low quality construction. They will rent gouge you and steal your money-- and I'm not even talking about the deposit that they took.
Please read before considering this place:
- reviews are fake, they are only related to the professional service that is asked by the company to push 5 star review by tenants (but they deserve it)
- the leasing office is rude, never helpful
- there is nothing to do in the neighborhood (everything is closing) and everything else is far away
- it is unsafe to park the car on the street (broken windows couple of time) and full of homeless around
If anyway you are considering to move in please consider:
- make a full inspection of the house, also in places you usually do not consider (like in the nooks of the washing machine)
- for moving out do not clean the house, they will just charge you the cleaning ($200)
- pay attention to extra charged days at the signing of the agreement, they’ll charge you $120 dollar extra per day
- expect to loose the deposit
Other than that the place is clean and amenities are really good
If you like to paint, choose this place. I was told I had to repaint the entire wall where I made pin sized holes. “touch up paint won’t suffice.”
At the end of your lease, you will lose your security deposit. Normal wear and tear will be deducted.
You will have to hire a cleaning service at the end as “you have to clean behind the fridge, stove, which will be hard.”
You will occasionally encounter homeless individuals entering the building and make it past some floors!
Please read all other reviews on yelp. Most most positive reviews on here are regarding maintenance. Sure John Martinez was great, but be sure to read the other stuff regarding management!
Professionalism, friendly, and the process was quick and efficient and satisfying.
Darren stayed late on a Saturday to hand over my keys and set me up for the start of my lease - thank you!
Our apartment flooded 3 times over 2 months. Despite following up with management for months, they refused to let us move out, cover rent or a hotel for when the floor was literally under water (even after promising to do so and being required to do so by law), and had the audacity to say they would raise rent if we were transferred to another unit in the building. They were completely unhelpful when they bothered responding at all - emails are almost always ignored. Then they made us pay for paint damage from the floods during move out. Do not rent apt 272. Do not rent here.
The maintenance crew is super responsive and awesome. Eduardo Limos addressed repairs around the apartment. He was kind, thorough and quick and always willing to help out.
